What is Chromogenic media?
Chromogenic media are specialized culture media that enable the differentiation and identification of bacterial colonies through distinctive color changes. This innovative approach simplifies the process of identifying growing microorganisms, making it an invaluable tool in various applications.
The versatility of chromogenic media extends to clinical bacteriology, industrial microbiology, quality control in the food and beverage sectors, as well as water testing and environmental monitoring. By utilizing this type of media, detection of key clinical and food-borne pathogens, including Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus, Candida auris, E. coli O157, Listeria, Vibrio, Pseudomonas, and others, becomes quicker and more straightforward.
